Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Butler tray tables originated in the 18th century as portable serving trays set upon folding or fixed stands, designed for servants to transport tea, diningware, or spirits between rooms in large English houses.

Authentic period pieces were traditionally constructed from dense hardwoods such as mahogany, oak, or walnut, often featuring hand-cut dovetail joints and brass hinges where folding mechanisms applied.

Identification relies on examining timber grain, patination, hand-cut joinery, type of fixings, and signs of genuine age-related wear, such as surface oxidisation and minor shrinkage cracks in the wood.

A butler tray table functions effectively as a compact coffee table or side table, offering raised edges that help contain decorative accessories like books, ceramics, or glassware while adding architectural character to contemporary spaces.

Preservation requires keeping wooden pieces away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, periodically applying microcrystalline wax to nourish the finish, and avoiding harsh chemical cleaners.
