A group of three very fine Chinese Export porcelain coffee cups. Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period. 1736 - 1795.
Highly refined and exquisitely enameled famille rose porcelain cups. Masterfully painted in vibrant famille rose enamels. All 3 exhibit extremely fine and superior-quality continuous narrative painted scenes. Depicting family life, mandarin officials, scholars, harbour scenes, nobleman and cartouches with extremely finely painted birds sitting in trees. The attention to detail in the colourful clothing and formal costumes is superb. This multi-layered visual storytelling portrays themes of journey, education, wisdom, and hierarchy in Qing society, amidst virtues of every-day life.

...hese cups were possibly produced in the prestigious Jingdezhen kilns for high-ranking officials or the export market catering to European aristocrats. These examples demonstrate artistic refinement closer to Yongzheng-period famille rose pieces. Superb.
