Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This three-piece garden set dates from the Art Deco period of 1920 and comprises two matching armchairs and a small round bistro table. The suite is constructed from cast and wrought iron with a pale green Rustoleum laurel green painted finish. Each high fan-backed chair features vertical wirework, curved armrests, scrollwork along the apron, and an open slatted seat, whilst the accompanying table stands on folding X-frame legs with a slatted top. The chairs measure 99 cm high by 84 cm wide by 51 cm deep, and the table stands 66 cm high with a 66 cm diameter. Ideal for outdoor spaces such as a patio, courtyard, or sunlit conservatory, this fully refurbished set provides comfortable seating for two people. The durable metal construction makes the grouping practical for al fresco dining or relaxing in the garden during warmer months. Its cohesive design brings a classic period aesthetic to external living areas while remaining completely functional for daily use in a contemporary home.

FAQs

Art Deco metal garden furniture typically incorporates clean geometric lines, fan motifs, and streamlined vertical wirework combined with structural cast or wrought iron frames.

Traditional bistro sets were crafted using forged wrought iron or cast iron components, featuring riveted or welded joints, hand-formed scrollwork, and painted protective finishes.

Authentic pieces exhibit heavy physical weight, hand-welded joints, multiple historical layers of paint, and subtle natural oxidisation beneath the surface finish.

Position the set on a paved terrace, gravel courtyard, or within a sunroom, pairing the pale metalwork with natural stone pavers and potted botanical plants.

Maintain the finish by wiping down surfaces with mild soapy water, treating rust spots with a wire brush and rust-inhibiting primer, and sheltering the furniture during harsh winter months.
