Farnham Antique Carpets has dated this Antique Persian Mahal Carpet to the 1870s.
Often using saffron, weld or even pomegranate peel it was an expensive dye to produce and we can see why on this exceptional carpet.

Woven with a Mahal weave in the area of Sultanabad, Persia - this piece was hand-created around 1870 and with this we can see some lower areas of pile height. No holes, rips or tears and structurally in great order. The minimal wear and fading over the last 150 years leave us with a very handsome carpet, which would be easy to place in already finished interior or build a scheme with.

We offer a professional home visit service, having visited customers in their own homes all over the UK for over 30 years. We feel it is vital to view carpets and rugs at home, so you can make the ideal choice, trying various options in a room. A free, no obligation service we have offered since 1990.

Book a visit to our barn showroom if you prefer, we have over 1000 antique and contemporary carpets, rugs and runners on offer. We are located in the small village of Crondall in Surrey, around an hours drive from London.

Reserve this carpet for your project or home, and you can organise a home or showroom visit soon. We offer our reservation service, so you do not miss out on the carpet or rug you love, but may not be quite ready to purchase.
