This is an antique drawing room show cabinet. An English, burr walnut and boxwood chest on stand, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.
 
Superb raised cabinet with beautiful figuring and finish
 
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
 
Burr walnut stocks present fine grain interest throughout
 
Presented in warm caramel hues with lighter boxwood stringing
 
Fascia adorned with shield brass mounts, including a lock escutcheon to the upper — key absent
 
Lid opens to access an ebonised top compartment with a height of 17cm (6.75'''')
 
Cupboard door to the middle of the fascia with faux drawer finish
 
Two pairs of small drawers frame the door, with brass drop handles
 
Arrangement complete with a full width drawer situated in the lower fascia
 
Dressed with a pair of carry handles to the side for ease of movement
 
Striking demi-lune aprons enhance the front legs, with gently tapered legs at rear
