Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A George III oak lowboy is a small table with drawers produced during the reign of King George III (17601820). Originally used as a dressing table or writing desk, it typically features a flat top, a arrangement of three drawers, and a decorative apron.

These tables were constructed primarily from solid English oak, often showcasing hand-cut dovetail joints, oak drawer linings, and cast brass swan-neck handles. The tops were frequently secured with wooden dowels over square or cabriole legs.

Authentic pieces feature signs of hand-planing on the back and underside, hand-sawn timber marks, and genuine age-related shrinkage in the solid wood panels. The ironmongery should show hand-cast details, correct period patination, and original fitting marks.

An oak lowboy functions as a hallway console, side table, or vanity unit in contemporary settings. Pairing the warm oak tone with neutral wall paint and simple ceramic or glassware accents creates a balanced contrast between traditional craftsmanship and modern design.

Maintain the finish by dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax paste once or twice a year. Keep the table away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent wood movement or drying of the timber.
