A good large Regency mahogany hall bench; attributed to Gillows after designs by Charles Heathcote Tatham; the generous well figured solid mahogany seat with a moulded edge having substantial raised cylindrical arms, terminating in carved flowerhead paterae; above the plain inset freize raised on reeded turned tapering legs. All features repeated on the reverse so can be used freestanding and suitable for use as a window seat. Excellent quality mahogany of good rich colour and patination.
