Gillows Regency Mahogany Hall Bench

Attributed to Gillows of Lancaster, in the manner of Tatham & Marsh, this large Regency hall bench/window seat is one of the best examples of English furniture of this period.
 
This good scale bold bench with flowing bolster ends, turned roundels , finishing on fine turned reeded tapering legs. The wonderful quality Cuban mahogany has a great figure and caramel to honey colours, the seat and bolster flow into each other with the grain running in the same direction, showing off Gillows of Lancaster’s first class cabinet making skills.
 
The Gillows name is associated with the upmost respect ability and value for money.
