What is a vintage satinwood storage chest?

It is a wooden box, chest of drawers, or cabinet finished in pale, reflective satinwood veneers or solid timber. These pieces range from small desktop collector cases to tall linen presses and music cabinets.

How do I care for satinwood?

Keep the timber away from direct sunlight and excessive heat sources to protect the delicate grain and polished finish. Dust regularly with a dry cloth and avoid harsh chemical polishes.

Are these chests made of solid satinwood?

Many examples utilise satinwood veneers applied over secondary timber carcases such as mahogany or pine. Some pieces, particularly trunks, are constructed from solid satinwood or related satin birch.

What periods do these chests come from?

The selection includes pieces from the Georgian, Regency, Victorian, and Edwardian eras, alongside later Art Deco designs. Revival styles such as Sheraton Revival also appear frequently.
