How do I clean a large carpet?

Professional specialist cleaning is essential for room-size wool rugs to protect the natural dyes and hand-knotted foundations. Regular gentle vacuuming without a beater bar removes surface dust safely between professional washes.

Are these carpets suitable for heavy traffic?

Substantial wool and cotton room carpets withstand regular domestic use successfully when paired with a quality underlay. Placement in moderate traffic areas preserves the pile height and structural integrity over decades.

How do I identify a Heriz carpet?

Heriz carpets typically present bold geometric central medallions and firm, angular corner designs woven in distinct regional colourways. They carry a sturdy handle due to the heavy cotton warps employed by weavers in north-west Persia.

What is the difference between village and city carpets?

Village carpets display spontaneous geometric patterns and robust wool, reflecting the independent designs of local weavers. City carpets from centres like Tabriz or Kirman exhibit finer knotting, symmetrical curves, and formal floral compositions.
