How are double sconces mounted?

These fixtures secure to wall surfaces using screw fixings through the backplate. Electric models require professional wiring into domestic power circuits behind the wall. Candle-holding versions attach securely to support the weight of the metal arms and burning candles safely.

Can electric sconces use candles?

Most electric wall lights are wired for small SES bulbs designed to resemble candle flames. Converting them back to genuine wax candles is generally impractical without altering the internal wiring. Selecting pieces explicitly designated as candle lamps allows for actual flame use if desired.

How do I clean gilt bronze?

Dust surfaces gently with a soft dry brush to remove accumulated particles without scratching the finish. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive cloths that strip away thin layers of gold. Professional conservation advice should be sought before applying any liquid polish to antique metalwork.

Are these fixtures sold in pairs?

Many wall lights appear as matched pairs designed to flank mirrors, fireplaces, or doorways symmetrically. Larger sets of three, four, or six pieces also occur for lighting more substantial spaces. Checking individual listings confirms whether pieces are offered as single items, pairs, or larger uniform sets.
