How do I place a stand in a narrow hallway?

Demi-lune shapes sit flat against the wall, taking up minimal floor space while offering sufficient storage for multiple walking sticks and umbrellas. Their curved profiles allow easy passage in tight entranceways without obstructing doorways.

Are original drip trays important?

Original metal drip trays protect flooring from moisture and confirm the completeness of the piece. Finding a stand with its matching tray ensures the internal drainage system functions as intended.

What is a coopered barrel stand?

Coopered barrel stands utilise wooden staves bound together by brass or iron bands, echoing traditional cask-making techniques. This method provides exceptional structural strength for heavy oak umbrella storage.

How do I distinguish Victorian from Edwardian stands?

Victorian stands tend to feature heavier cast iron or dark carved oak with robust decorative detailing. Edwardian and later pieces often lean towards lighter framing, simpler brass rails, or Art Deco geometric lines.
