Where should I place a console table?

These tables traditionally stand against entrance hall walls or beneath large mirrors in reception spaces to create a focal point. Their shallow depth allows them to occupy narrow corridors and landings without obstructing movement through the room.

How do I care for the marble top?

The stone surface requires wiping with a damp cloth and mild soap, avoiding acidic cleaning agents that etch polished finishes. Using coasters and placemats protects the porous marble from moisture rings and staining over extended daily use.

Are these tables completely original?

Many examples retain their original fitted stone slabs and timber frames, though historical repairs to veneer and mounts do occur. Examining the underside and joints helps determine the extent of past conservation work on the structure.
