How do I hang a heavy chandelier?

Heavy bronze and crystal fixtures require secure anchorage into ceiling joists using rated steel fixings. Professional electrical installation ensures the weight is supported safely independently of the wiring. Position the fixture at a height that allows comfortable clearance underneath, particularly when hung over dining tables or in open hallway spaces.

Can these antique lights be rewired?

Most period fixtures accommodate modern electrical wiring and standard lamp holders without altering the exterior metalwork. Professional rewiring ensures compliance with current safety regulations. Retaining the original sockets or visible switches is sometimes possible if you prefer a historical restoration approach for display.

How do I clean gilt brass and crystal?

Reference the materials used, such as cut crystal types and metal alloys, to narrow down whether a piece belongs to the 1800s or the early 1900s.
