The Queen Anne style emerged in England during the late 17th and early 18th centuries, characterised by curved lines and cabriole legs, later influencing Edwardian revival pieces in the early 20th century.

These tables are traditionally constructed from timber such as walnut, often featuring figured veneers, dovetail joints on drawers, and solid brass hardware.

Authentic pieces from the original era show period-specific hand tools and joinery marks, whereas 20th-century revivals exhibit machine-cut joints and distinct timber ageing characteristics.

A lowboy functions effectively as a slim desk, hallway console, or dressing table, providing a historical focal point that contrasts cleanly with modern minimalist decor.

Preserve the finish by keeping the timber away from direct sunlight and heat sources, applying occasional microcrystalline wax, and avoiding moisture buildup.
