Hoshiarpur furniture originated in the Punjab region of India during the British colonial period, celebrated for its intricate wood carving and metal wire inlay techniques showcased at international exhibitions.

These pieces are typically constructed from dense regional hardwoods such as sheesham or shisham, featuring hand-carved geometric or floral motifs inset with delicate brass wire and sheet panels.

Authentic items exhibit traditional hand-cut joinery, aged patination on the brass and timber, irregularities indicative of manual craftsmanship, and often folding or collapsible structural designs.

Such decorative accent pieces function effectively as focal points in eclectic or transitional spaces, providing textural contrast against neutral upholstery and contemporary minimalist furnishings.

Maintenance requires dusting with a soft, dry cloth, avoiding direct sunlight and moisture to protect the timber, and using specialist non-abrasive brass cleaner cautiously on the metal elements.
