Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian corner cabinets, produced between 1901 and 1910, often draw inspiration from eighteenth-century Neoclassical and Sheraton Revival designs. They typically feature lighter proportions than Victorian predecessors, utilising mahogany decorated with intricate satinwood or boxwood marquetry, broken pediments, and geometric astragal glazing.

These cabinets were predominantly crafted using solid mahogany and mahogany veneers. Decorative elements incorporated marquetry and stringing made from lighter woods such as satinwood, boxwood, and tulipwood, alongside mouth-blown glass panes secured with wooden glazing bars.

Authentic pieces exhibit signs of hand-finished joinery, such as hand-cut dovetail joints on internal drawer construction, original brass locks, and subtle irregularities in mouth-blown glass. The inlay should sit completely flush with the surrounding veneer, showing natural age-related patination.

A standing corner cabinet makes efficient use of architectural dead space in dining rooms, living areas, or hallways. The upper glazed section can display ceramic tableware, glassware, or books, while the lower solid doors provide concealed storage.

To preserve the timber and inlay, position the cabinet away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking or fading. Clean the wood using a dry microfibre cloth and apply a quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, while cleaning glass panes with a mild vinegar solution applied to a cloth rather than sprayed directly.
