Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced around the turn of the 20th century, Edwardian Sheraton Revival furniture draws inspiration from late 18th-century classical designs. It is defined by symmetrical proportions, fine marquetry inlay, slender legs, and the warm tones of polished mahogany timber.

Cabinetmakers utilised dense mahogany for the main frame, embellished with contrasting timber inlays such as satinwood or boxwood. Glazed doors feature fitted glass panels, while interiors were often lined with fabric or fitted with glass shelving to display collectables.

Authentic pieces exhibit precise hand-cut inlay work rather than printed veneers, with subtle timber grain variations across floral or urn motifs. Stamped maker marks, original brass hardware, dovetail joinery, and natural patination on untamed timber surfaces also indicate period construction.

Positioning a standing corner unit in an underutilised corner maximises floor space while introducing warm wood tones to a room. Highlighting the glazed section with subtle interior lighting creates a contrast between historic timber craftsmanship and modern decor.

Dust surfaces regularly using a soft microfibre cloth, following the direction of the wood grain. Protect the French-polished mahogany finish by applying a quality beeswax twice a year and keeping the piece away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
