Description

A magnificent bedroom suite with impressive brass inlay & coloured features, including exotic birds & griffins. Of the continental style, possibly French (but I know that it came from a home in Prague).

The quality of this suite is just fabulous & condition is very good for its age & particularly taking account of past around the world moving experiences.

Photographed outside in natural daylight with an iPad & no colour editing, so the pictures reflect this item exactly as it really is. Originally I am sure this suite resided in a truly superior residence and seeks a home of superior grace & quality.

Alternatively this furniture would make an amazing display for a period drama film set.

Fantastic craftsmanship in every way, wardrobes are sectional for easy transport with the best quality assembly fittings I have seen in any antique.

The suite I believe to be early 20th century recreating an earlier style of fabulous wealth & comfort.

The beds are made as two singles but when adjacent can used as a king size.

Limited photographs are included & we may be able to provide others on request. Please contact us for any further information you may require.

Declaration

Eclectic Antiques has dated this Antique Bedroom Suite to the 1910s.

Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

These suites often draw inspiration from historical revival movements, incorporating intricate decorative elements such as marquetry, gilt brass mounts, and classical architectural pediments.

Craftsmen typically used solid timber frames veneered with rich woods like walnut or mahogany, employing traditional joinery techniques, hand-carved details, and delicate inlay work.

Authenticity is determined by inspecting construction joints, timber oxidation, hand-cut dovetails in drawers, original hardware, and consistency in the hand-applied finish across all matching pieces.

Pairing matching period furniture with neutral, minimalist walls and contemporary textiles creates a balanced scheme that highlights the craftsmanship without overwhelming the space.

Maintain stable indoor humidity and temperature levels, avoid placing pieces in direct sunlight, and clean surfaces periodically using a soft, dry cloth without harsh chemical polishes.
