Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Regency fusee bracket clock is a early nineteenth-century English spring-driven timepiece featuring a conical fusee gear mechanism housed within a compact mahogany or rosewood case, popularised between 1810 and 1830.

Regency bracket clocks were constructed using mahogany or rosewood veneers over pine frameworks, detailed with brass stringing or foliage inlays, glass dial doors, and cast brass mountings such as paw feet and finials.

Authentic Regency examples feature brass inlay motifs, a mechanical fusee movement, brass side carrying handles or lion-mask drops, claw or bracket feet, and a painted white or cream convex dial with Roman numerals.

Position the timepiece centrally on a fireplace mantelpiece, credenza, or study desk to function as an architectural focal point alongside contemporary art or monochrome ceramics.

Keep the timber casing dusted with a soft microfibre cloth, apply beeswax sparingly once per year along the grain, and ensure the mechanical movement is serviced by a professional horologist every three to five years.
