Cross Antiques has dated this Mahogany Longcase Grandfather Clock to the Georgian era.
The long moulded door has its original lock and a working key. It has a paneled base and double plinth.

The good quality 8 day, five pillar movement strikes the hours on a bell. It has a smart brass dial with a silvered chapter ring, large subsidiary seconds dial and a date window. It also has the all important strike/silent selector to the arch. It comes with its original brass cased weights and brass pendulum

The case is in excellent condition but being over 200 years old does have the inevitable odd minor mark and veneer chip. The trunk door is bowed somewhat but closes and locks ok. The height below excludes the centre final.
The movement is in good working order and keeping good time.
