Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the Georgian era, these tables characteristically feature symmetrical proportions, fine mahogany timber, functional drawer arrangements, and slender tapered or turned legs suited for bedrooms or reception rooms.

Craftsmen typically utilised imported mahogany for primary visible surfaces due to its dense grain, alongside pine or oak for secondary drawer linings, held together with hand-cut dovetail joinery and brass hardware.

Authentic pieces display hand-sawn wood marks, hand-cut dovetail joints in drawers, hand-cast brass handles, and natural patination or slight timber shrinkage developed over two centuries.

Positioning a mahogany table against a contemporary neutral wall or pairing it with clean-lined modern lighting balances historical craftsmanship with modern minimalism, creating a focal point in a hallway or bedroom.

Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish sparingly once or twice a year, keeping the piece away from direct sunlight and central heating radiators to prevent timber movement.
