Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A rummer is a drinking vessel with a wide bowl, short stem, and flat circular foot, widely produced in Britain during the late 18th and early 19th centuries for serving alcoholic beverages.

During the Regency and Georgian periods, rummers were hand-blown using heavy lead glass and decorated using copper-wheel engraving techniques to cut designs directly into the surface.

Authentic Georgian glassware typically displays a pontil mark on the underside of the base, minor irregularities from hand-blowing, and a distinct weight and dark ring characteristic of period lead crystal.

An antique rummer can be styled on a dark wood sideboard, within an illuminated glass display cabinet, or grouped on a decorative tray alongside other period glass items.

Antique lead glass should be washed individually by hand in lukewarm water using mild liquid detergent, avoiding abrasive cloths, dishwasher heat, and thermal shock from hot water.
