Exceptional George III Potboard Dresser Base C.1800

Description

Superb George III oak potboard dresser base with exceptional detail c.1800. Split level top with a raised plate stand along the back edge. Single piece main top (height 29") with shaped front corners and a crisp moulded edge. Over three long drawers and four small 'knife' drawers, with moulded edges to the drawer fronts and brass handles. It is much more common to find the smaller drawers are actually dummy drawer fronts, to have four small working drawers as here is a rare feature. Moulded edge to the apron with unusual decorative carved and pierced brackets to the raised middles and where the legs join. Turned front legs and straight rear stiles joined with an open potboard display shelf with the original oak boards. Oak sides and back board. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
