Antique Early Lighting 18thc Brass Single Patinated Candlestick. English C1740-50

Description

Just a beautiful early single brass candlestick from the mid 18thc....it has gained the most wonderful natural patination, having never been polished...this is how I like to find them...it stands on a slightly raised segmented base and has two shaped knops at the top and bottom of the flared out central stem....the stem is attached to the cast base by being made as a tight "drive-fit" into the collar of the base centre..... the shallow candle sconce has an attractive shape and is also flared out at the top....typical of the time....in very good condition.
