London City Antiques has dated this Georgian Mahogany Demi Lune Table to the 1800s.

Designed to sit neatly against a wall as a console table when closed, the top opens to reveal the original green baize playing surface, transforming it into a practical card or games table. This ingenious dual-purpose design made such tables highly desirable in Georgian drawing rooms where space was often at a premium. During the day it served as an elegant console table for displaying lamps, porcelain or decorative objects, while in the evening it became a card table for entertaining guests.

The restrained lines, quality timber selection and refined proportions are characteristic of the best Georgian furniture. A highly decorative and versatile piece that works equally well in both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Condition Report
Excellent antique condition with a rich colour and patina. The table is sturdy and sound with age-related wear consistent with careful use. The fold-over mechanism operates as it should and the baize remains in good usable condition.
