Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A demi-lune table is a half-moon shaped accent table that originated in the 18th century. Designed to sit flush against walls, pairs were often crafted to join together to form a full round table or to flank doorways in formal reception rooms.

George III pieces typically utilised solid and veneered Cuban or West Indian mahogany, frequently accented with fine boxwood or satinwood stringing. Legs were commonly hand-turned or square-tapered with traditional mortise and tenon joinery.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetail joints, irregular hand-planed underside surfaces, and natural patination within the timber. Original aprons and legs will show slight variations characteristic of handcrafting rather than modern machine production.

Demi-lune tables work exceptionally well in entryways flanking a doorway, positioned in narrow hallways, or placed on either side of a fireplace. Alternatively, bringing the two semi-circular halves together creates a single, unified focal table.

Maintain mahogany by dusting regularly with a soft, dry lint-free cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year. Keep timber away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent drying, cracking, and colour fading.
