Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in eighteenth-century Britain, wine tables were compact occasional tables designed to sit beside armchairs to hold glasses, decanters, or candles. They typically feature a circular top set upon a single turned pedestal and a three-legged tripod base.

Authentic period pieces and traditional reproductions are crafted primarily from dense hardwoods such as mahogany or walnut. Construction methods include turned pedestal stems and hand-fitted legs dovetailed into a central block.

Period originals display hand-planed undersides, authentic wear to the base, and turned pedestals often featuring iron reinforcing plates underneath the leg block. Later reproductions tend to feature machine-turned timber and modern fixings.

Place the table beside a sofa or armchair to serve as a compact drink stand or lamp base. Its slender footprint makes it ideal for smaller spaces while adding a warm timber accent to contemporary upholstery.

Dust regularly with a dry, lint-free cloth and apply a quality natural beeswax polish twice a year to maintain the timber sheen. Keep the table away from direct heat sources and radiators to prevent warping.
