Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A George III serpentine chest of drawers features a wave-like convex and concave front profile, popular in late 18th-century British cabinetmaking, combining symmetrical proportions with decorative veneer work.

Cabinetmakers predominantly utilised solid mahogany and mahogany veneers laid over oak or pine carcases, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints, cast brass bail handles, and boxwood or satinwood stringing inlays.

Authentic pieces display hand-planed timber surfaces, irregular hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, original cast brass hardware fixed with hand-cut iron threads, and natural timber shrinkage gaps on back panels.

Position the chest as a focal storage piece in an entryway, hallway, or bedroom, pairing dark timber tones with contemporary artwork, textured ceramic vessels, or minimalist wall sconces.

Maintain stable indoor humidity, position the furniture away from direct sunlight or heat sources, and apply a natural beeswax polish twice yearly following the direction of the wood grain.
