This mirror is a little larger than standard for a Regency Comvex Mirror and of course its no surprise when taking into account the workshops which is was produced in that it is of exceptional quality and design.
There are various old breaks, repairs and worn areas, but none out of context for what you would expect on an antique item of this considerable age and all which have been historically well repaired to blend in with the overall surface.
This mirror has real elegance and would be a wonderful addition to any room of any building.

Thomas Fentham was a prominent London firm specialising in carving, gilding, glass grinding, and the manufacture of picture frames and looking glasses, and paticularly in convex examples with carved ebonised eagles and girandole arms decorated with Egyptian motifs.
It was known for producing Neo-classical and Gothic Revival mirrors, gilded frames, girandoles, and Venetian window blinds, often with elaborate carved ornamentation. Fentham's trade cards advertised a wide range of decorative items, and his work was commissioned by notable clients including Lady Heathcote, Charles Towneley, and the 3rd Earl of Egremont.
