Antique Veramin Carpet

Description

Wonderful decorative antique Veramin carpet with a floral all over Mina Khani design in the main field.  With a rarer off white, un-dyed wool background, it allows the fine floral design with connecting vines to be seen with the soft blues and faded burnt oranges.  A large border design with a palmette motif supposedly based on a turtle, along with a 16th century 'Herati' pattern next to it.  Full of interest and artistic charm, in fabulous condition too.

Organise a home visit, we love to travel all over the UK and we would be very happy to show you this antique Veramin carpet in situ along with any other carpets you like on our website.  To see which best suits your home and interior.

Veramin is a town located in the south of Tehran.  Veramin rugs and carpets are famous for this 'Mina Khani' floral design which consists of flowers connected by vines and using soft pinks, blues, reds and yellow dyes.  A very beautiful and decorative antique carpet which is in good original condition, no damage or restoration and with good underlay we provide it would be an attractive decorative carpet for the floor.

Book in a showroom visit, we are open Monday to Saturday by appointment.  Our barn showroom is located in Crondall, Surrey.

These carpets are constructed with a hand-spun wool pile knotted onto a cotton or wool foundation, utilising natural plant and mineral dyes to produce deep reds, blues, and ivory tones.
