Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Tabriz carpets originate from the city of Tabriz in northwestern Iran, one of the oldest rug-weaving centres in the region. They are celebrated for their intricate floral motifs, circular medallions, high knot counts, and precise curvilinear designs.

These carpets are hand-knotted using fine wool pile spun onto a durable cotton or silk warp and weft foundation. Select pieces may also incorporate silk highlights within the detailed floral motifs.

Authentic pieces exhibit asymmetrical hand-tied knots visible on the underside, a tight weave, and natural vegetable dyes that age with subtle tonal variations over time. The classical patterns feature refined palmettes, arabesques, and structured multi-tiered borders.

A red Persian carpet serves as a grounding focal point in a space, anchoring modern furniture or complementary dark wood antiques. Pairing it with neutral walls and warm textiles allows the detailed pattern and deep tone to integrate smoothly.

Vacuum regularly without a rotating beater bar to prevent fibre damage, and rotate the carpet annually to ensure even wear and light exposure. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth and arrange for professional rug cleaning when required.
