Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Victorian three-tier oak buffet is a nineteenth-century piece of dining room furniture consisting of three open wooden shelves supported by turned posts. Originally designed for serving meals and storing tableware, these functional tables often include central drawers and brass handles.

Victorian buffets were typically constructed from solid hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, or walnut. Joinery often features hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, turned wooden columns, cast brass drawer pulls, and small brass castors attached to the base legs for mobility.

Authentic Victorian pieces display period-correct construction techniques, including hand-dovetailed drawer boxes, authentic brass hardware with age-appropriate patination, and hand-turned wooden supports. Look for natural surface wear along the tiers and original brass castors fitted to the feet.

In contemporary interiors, a Victorian buffet functions well as a drinks station, modern kitchen sideboard, or entryway storage unit. The open tiers allow for layering ceramics, glassware, or books, while the drawers house smaller household items.

Dust the timber surfaces regularly using a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year following the direction of the grain to preserve the wood and prevent drying, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners and direct heat sources.
