Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A rummer is a type of short, wide-rimmed drinking glass mounted on a short stem and heavy foot, which became popular in Great Britain during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. These vessels were designed for drinking wine, ale, punch, or spirit-based toddies.

Georgian rummers were typically hand-blown using lead crystal, also known as flint glass, which provided clarity, weight, and acoustic resonance. Surface decorations, such as scenes, monograms, or geometric borders, were applied using wheel engraving or acid etching techniques.

Authentic Georgian glass often exhibits signs of hand production, such as a pontil mark or smoothed ground pontil scar on the underside of the foot, slight asymmetry in shape, micro-bubbles, and age-appropriate wear on the bottom ring of the base.

Antique glass rummers can be styled on dining sideboards, open shelving, or inside glass-fronted cabinets where light can illuminate the engraved details. They are frequently grouped with mismatched period glassware or repurposed as small decorative vases.

Antique glassware should be hand-washed individually in lukewarm water using mild detergent and a soft cloth, avoiding dishwashers completely. To prevent thermal shock and clouding, sudden temperature changes and abrasive cleaning tools must be avoided.
