Holmes Antiques has dated this Queen Anne Walnut Chest to the 18th Century.
The matched veneers to the ends with cross grain banding to the front are particularly nice and have not suffered from shrinkage that often occurs in the groundwork. The feet are for the most part original with a few veneers patches at the base, they are typical of the Queen Anne Period having bold ogee shaping.
The chased brass handles and escutcheons are again typical of the period, the majority of them are original. This is a fine and very smart example with lovely clean original Oak Drawer linings.
