Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A chest on stand, also known as a highboy, is a two-part furniture piece consisting of an upper chest of drawers supported by a lower base set on decorative legs, typically produced in the late 17th and early 18th centuries.

Queen Anne period chests were predominantly constructed using native timber cores, such as pine or oak, veneered with figured walnut, walnut burrs, or fruitwoods, complemented by cast brass handles and escutcheons.

Authentic pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joints, oak or pine drawer linings with grain running front-to-back, original brass bail handles with backplates, and period-correct construction evidence under the base.

An antique chest on stand functions well as a focal point in a hallway, dining room, or bedroom, contrasting naturally against contemporary neutral walls and modern artwork.

Keep walnut furniture away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent timber movement and fading, and apply a high-quality beeswax polish annually to protect the original finish.
