Description

An outstanding late Victorian solid oak breakfront library bookcase, circa 1900. Expertly handcrafted from richly figured quarter-sawn English oak, this magnificent piece features adjustable shelving framed by fluted uprights and carved capitals, above a substantial base with drawers, panelled cupboards, and open shelving.

Constructed in five separate sections — the largest being the central base — allowing for ease of delivery and installation in modern homes. A beautifully engineered design typical of high-end Victorian cabinetmaking.

A true statement piece offering scale, craftsmanship and timeless English character - ideal for a study, library, dining room or country house interior.

Condition Report

Very good overall condition with only minor surface marks in line with age and use. All drawers and doors operate smoothly, shelves are sturdy and adjustable, and the brass retains a warm aged patina.
