We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A breakfront bookcase is characterized by a central section that projects forward beyond the adjacent side sections. Originating in the eighteenth century, this architectural design creates visual depth and provides distinct storage zones.

Victorian furniture makers commonly utilized native hardwoods such as English oak, walnut, and mahogany, often pairing solid timber frames with blown glass pane doors and hand-cut joinery.

Authentic nineteenth-century pieces typically exhibit hand-dovetailed drawer joints, original cast iron or brass fittings, minor irregularities in hand-blown glass, and natural timber oxidisation along the interior panels.

To modernise a large glazed cabinet, balance antique leather-bound books with contemporary ceramics, minimalist glassware, and neutral backdrop wall tones to create an eclectic focal point.

Maintain solid oak by dusting regularly with a soft lint-free cloth and applying beeswax polish once or twice a year, ensuring the piece is kept away from direct heat sources and sunlight.
