The Antique Furniture Company has dated this Victorian Oak Breakfront Bookcase to the Victorian era.
With a rounded moulded cornice and nine original adjustable shelves to the upper section, the stepped out base with three drawers above fielded panelled linenfold cupboard doors, with canted & notched edges and standing on a plinth base. Original Chubb & Son patent locks with serial numbers to a drawer and three doors and the linenfold carving being continued on to the sides being a further mark of quality. Overall this bookcase will house a run of 31ft 2in (9.5m) of books.

In good condition with an attractive dark golden colour, some marks as should be expected for age and use including to the back edge of the plinth where it has had a skirting gap filled. No keys for the cupboards but the doors are opened and close via twist handles and catches.

For moving this bookcase is designed to be split into two sections with the the upper part lifting off the base. The top section should be screwed to the base when assembled.
