Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Louis XV style centre table is a decorative piece of furniture originating in 18th-century France, characteristically featuring curved lines, cabriole legs, intricate marquetry, and gilt-bronze mounts designed to be displayed freestanding near the centre of a room.

Craftsmen typically utilised rich hardwood veneers such as walnut, kingwood, or rosewood over a solid timber frame, adorned with delicate marquetry timber inlays and cast ormolu or gilded brass mounts.

Look for fine hand-cut floral or scroll timber inlays, original cast bronze or brass mounts secured with historic thread screws, and natural signs of age such as slight timber shrinkage or historic oxidisation.

Position the table in a hall, entryway, or spacious living room to serve as an architectural focal point, accessorising the top with curated art books, a stone bowl, or a tailored floral arrangement.

Dust regularly using a soft microfibre cloth, maintain stable ambient humidity to prevent veneer movement, and clean metal mounts gently without applying harsh abrasive polishes to the timber.
