Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency chests of drawers typically feature Classical Greco-Roman influences, straight structural lines, fine timber veneers such as flame mahogany, and decorative details like spirally turned columns or brass lion mask hardware.

Primary construction utilized solid timbers and veneers of mahogany, rosewood, or walnut. Secondary woods for drawer linings included oak or pine, joined with hand-cut dovetail joints and fitted with brass locks and handles.

Authentic pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joinery, uneven saw marks on rear panels, natural shrinkage lines in the timber, authentic brass locks or escutcheons, and natural wear pattern oxidation on secondary woods inside drawers.

Position the piece as a focal point in a hallway, bedroom, or living area, pairing its rich wood tones against neutral or contemporary paint schemes and balancing its traditional form with modern lighting or contemporary artwork above.

Maintain mahogany by dusting with a soft microfiber cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax polish sparingly once or twice a year, avoiding direct sunlight, radiators, and harsh chemical cleaners.
