A Superb Gillows Secretaire Chest

18th century
Description

Raised on fine shaped feet, above which are 2 short and 2 long oak lined, cock beaded drawers and a secretaire drawer, with an interior of small drawers and an arched pigeon hole, all with original, distinctively Gillows brass handles. The chest is in fine quality mahogany, retains all its original elements and has a good colour and patina. 1140mm high, 940mm wide and 410mm deep. English. Circa 1790.

The chest is un-stamped by does have several pencil inscriptions on drawer sides which we are trying to decipher.
