A Regency convex mirror is a circular wall mirror originating from the early 19th century, characteristically featuring a curved glass lens that reflects an entire room in miniature. These frames are typically carved from wood and finished with gold leaf, often crowned with symbolic motifs such as eagles or foliate crestings.

These mirrors were constructed using a hand-carved wooden frame coated in gesso before water gilding with real gold leaf was applied. The glass was hand-blown and curved, framed internally by a reeded ebony or black-painted slip to create visual contrast against the gilded moulding.
