Arundel Clocks has dated this French Repeating Carriage Clock to the 1900s.
I have for sale an 1890 French enamel inlay carriage clock made in France which has been fully restored both movement and case in December 2023.
This is a genuine French carriage clock not a modern reproduction.
The Case
The case is in solid brass and stands 16.
The enamel bandings run top and bottom on all 4 sides and inlaid flowers set into the handle stops.
The clock retains the original base plate.
The Dial
The dial is in untouched original condition with blue Arabic numerals and the original ornate gilt hands housed in a beautiful gilded mask which is simply stunning catching the light.
The Movement
The movement is an eight-day time and strike, so it strikes for hours and a half. The movement has been ultrasonic cleaned, hand polished, serviced, and oiled, so it keeps a great time over the eight days via the original platform.
This clock also has a working repeater function.
Overall a very rare beautiful quality carriage clock by a quality French maker that looks stunning on display and contains all of its original features this is quite a rare find these days.
