Description

A late 19th century walnut cabriole leg lowboy in the Queen Anne style. The top with wide crossband outside a double herringbone border with quarter veneered centre panels, moulded edge with re entrant corners.

Three drawers, crossbanded and having brass pear drop handles, above a shaped centre frieze, standing on well shaped cabriole legs back and front with pad feet. Good colour and patina, there is a replaced drawer bottom (see photo) and two linings seem a little different to the others but these are old repairs commensurate with the age of the article, the lowboy being English and no later than 1880. Tha back is also veneered so the lowboy could also go freestanding.
