Early Victorian Engraved Silver Snuff Box

19th century
Description

A fine quality small early Victorian silver Snuff Box, of flat oval form, the sides with raised chased foliate scroll decoration, the base and lid superbly and deeply engraved with foliate scrolls on engine turned and matted backgrounds, the lid with a small central shield shaped cartouche engraved with contemporary initials. The flat concealed hinge opens to reveal a gilded interior.
