Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Snuff boxes were compact pocket containers crafted during the nineteenth century to store ground tobacco leaves, frequently made in solid silver with tight hinges to preserve freshness.

Victorian snuff boxes were predominantly constructed from sterling silver, gold, tortoiseshell, or horn, often featuring engine-turned surface patterns and interior gilding to prevent corrosion.

Authentic British pieces bear stamped hallmarks including the lion passant for sterling silver, a date letter, the leopards head for London, and a registered makers mark.

Small silver boxes can be placed on an office desk, styled on a console table tray, or arranged on a bookshelf display to add metallic detail and historical context.

Clean silver using a gentle silver polishing cloth and specialized silver foam, avoiding harsh chemical dips or moisture exposure that could damage internal gilding or joints.
