FAQs

Glassware from the 19th century is defined by manual production techniques, resulting in slight variations in bowl dimensions, stem thickness, and foot size. These pieces frequently exhibit natural air inclusions, subtle grey or greenish tinting, and pontil scars on the underside of the base.

These vessels were crafted using soda-lime or leaded glass gathered onto a blowpipe and shaped by hand. Stems were either drawn directly from the base of the bowl or separately applied, with the foot attached and flattened before being severed from the pontil rod.
