How do I style a white pearl choker?

A white pearl choker sits neatly against the collarbone, making it suitable for pairing with open necklines and evening wear. The shorter length draws focus upward towards the face. For a contemporary look, these necklaces can be layered with longer chains or worn alone to highlight the clasp detail at the back or side.

What periods do these chokers come from?

The selections span several decades, featuring Victorian, Edwardian, Art Deco, and Mid-Century periods. Each era brings distinct characteristics to the mountings and clasps. Nineties revivals aside, the primary offerings date from the early twentieth century through to the 1960s.

How do I care for vintage pearls?

Pearls are organic gems that require gentle handling, avoiding direct contact with perfumes, cosmetics, and harsh chemicals. Storing them flat helps prevent undue stretching of the silk thread. Many older strands benefit from periodic restringing by a specialist to ensure the security of the pearls.
