Where were piano stools used?

Piano stools were placed in parlours and music rooms alongside keyboard instruments. Duet versions provided seating for two players during shared practice. Many included internal compartments for sheet music storage. Their height allowed comfortable reach to the keyboard.

What is a window seat stool?

A window seat is an elongated form designed to fit into a bay or recess. These pieces offered low seating beneath natural light. Examples often feature upholstered tops and sturdy wooden frames. They functioned both as decorative furniture and practical resting places.

How do I care for wooden frames?

Maintain timber surfaces by keeping them away from direct heat sources and strong sunlight. Regular dusting preserves the polish on mahogany and walnut. Avoid excessive moisture when cleaning the surrounding upholstery fabric. Gentle care protects both the structural wood and the textile covering.
